Toni Jones

Environmental Engineer

Toni Jones grew up in rural, eastern North Carolina where she developed a love for the outdoors and a desire to protect it at an early age. As an engineer with a passion for promoting environmental justice and sustainable practices, Toni has led various teams focused on environmental mitigation and pollution prevention throughout her career.

In her former role as the technical expert for environmental justice and engagement at the Environmental Protection Agency, Toni was actively involved in community outreach programs, advocating for policies that support sustainable practices, particularly those that empower farmers to adopt methods that protect their land and enhance soil health. She has also served as an environmental engineer with the NC Department of Environmental Quality.

Currently, Toni is a senior research public health analyst for an established non-profit organization, where she serves as the deputy director for multimillion-dollar grant programs. With a master’s degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering with a minor in Soil Science from North Carolina State University and a B.S. in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Toni combines technical expertise with a deep commitment to social equity.

When not working, Toni enjoys hiking with her family, volunteering with land conservancy groups, and exploring new sustainable practices to share with others.
